This image of ngc2024 was acquired in H-alpha.  Two versions are shown here...  One more typical, and the other showing more of the interesting underlying structure.

Image data was:  40 x 300 seconds Ha,  unbinned 1x1.

Named the "Flame Nebula", ngc2024 is an emission nebula located in the constellation Orion, about 1350 light years from Earth.  It is part of the Orion molecular cloud complex.   ref. wiki
